Dr. Diana Carlson, DO
As an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Carlson provides care for patients starting at age 18 with simple to complex medical issues. She also provides general care for disorders such as diabetes and thyroid disease, heart and kidney diseases, hypertension, lung diseases, and a number of other health problems. As a practitioner of traditional medicine, she also follows and manages patients during hospitalization. She maintains rounding privileges at DMC Huron Valley Sinai Hospital to provide continuity of care. Dr. Carlson enjoys discussing disease states and treatment options with her patients and she believes it’s important to provide relevant and practical education to everyone.

Dr. Carlson grew up in Metro Detroit. She received her Baccalaureate Degree from Wayne State University in Honors Biology in 2004. She received her medical degree in 2008 from ATSU- Kirsksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, the founding school of osteopathy, in Kirksville, Missouri. She completed her residency training at the Detroit Medical Center. She completed a clinical and translational research fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Her publications include papers and abstracts concerning skin health. She now resides in West Bloomfield.

Dr. Carlson chose Internal Medicine to deal with complex medical issues. Her diversity in this field includes: diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disease, cancer screening, and other health issues. She is a member of such notable medical associations as the American College of Physicians and American College of Osteopathic Internists.

Dr. Carlson affirms the sanctity of life and attempts to live each day serving others with gratitude and respect. She has travelled to Haiti on medical mission trips. As the mother of four, Dr. Carlson has a deep appreciation of family life. As a spouse, she appreciates a cooperative spirit to combine strengths in battling difficulties and overcoming obstacles.
Dr. Carlson is a team player who works hard and “loves God, and others.” Outside of her medical career, she enjoys spending time with family, Christian music, and trips to the beach.
